Since it opened to traffic in 1968, the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge has stood for half a century, carrying countless familial bonds, romantic love stories, and cherished memories of the Chinese people. In October 2016, the bridge was fully closed for comprehensive renovation, and on December 29, 2018, it will reopen to traffic, resplendent and renewed, returning to the everyday lives of the public.

Before the bridge officially reopened to traffic, the Yangtze River Bridge hosted a three-day public open house. At 9:00 a.m. on the 28th, members of the Party branch of Jiutian High-Tech gathered in full formation and, filled with excitement, made their way toward the bridge. We traced the bridge’s half-century of history with our footsteps, seeking the marks of its growth.

Party members who took part in this event remarked, “The Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge has witnessed China’s 50-year journey of independence and self-reliance, a journey that also encompasses the profound transformations brought about by 40 years of reform and opening-up.” As a monumental achievement of New China, the bridge carries the memories of several generations of Chinese people, embodying a legacy of spirit and strength. Through this Party‑building activity, the broader membership has strengthened their sense of mission and responsibility, with many pledging to remain committed to their posts and embark on a new journey with even greater enthusiasm.
