On April 28, Nanjing City held a grand ceremony at the Great Hall of the People to celebrate International Labor Day on May 1 and commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Nanjing Municipal Federation of Trade Unions. The event honored advanced units and individuals in the second “Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation” meritorious competition, as well as recipients of the 2017 Nanjing May Day Labor Medals, May Day Labor Medals, Worker Vanguard Titles, and the first batch of the Ten “Nanjing Craftsmen.” Comrade Ji Zuhuan, General Manager of Jiutian High-Tech, was awarded the “Nanjing May Day Labor Medal,” while Zhu Yuexin, Deputy Manager of the Production Department, was recognized as an “Advanced Individual in the Nanjing Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Meritorious Competition” and also received the “Nanjing May Day Labor Medal.” This marks the second consecutive year that Jiutian High-Tech has had employees receive this prestigious honor.
At the meeting, Wu Zhenglong, Deputy Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee, delivered an important address. Secretary Wu first extended warm congratulations to the advanced collectives and individuals honored at the event, and conveyed festive greetings and profound respect to the broad ranks of cadres, workers, and laborers across all sectors and fronts throughout the city. He emphasized that, standing at a new starting point, General Secretary Xi Jinping has put forward new requirements for Jiangsu’s development—“strong, prosperous, beautiful, and high”—while the 13th Provincial Party Congress and the 14th Municipal Party Congress have set forth the goals of “two concentrations and one high level” and “one high-standard achievement and six notable outcomes.” All levels of trade union organizations must unite and lead the vast workforce, vigorously promote the spirit of model workers and the spirit of labor, courageously shoulder responsibilities, and take proactive action, thereby achieving remarkable accomplishments in this new journey that are worthy of the times.
