The 4th East China Graduate Academic Forum on Membrane Science and Technology was held in Nanjing.

From November 22 to 24, 2024, the Fourth East China Graduate Academic Forum on Membrane Science and Technology was held in Nanjing. The event was hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Membrane Society (in preparation) and organized by Nanjing University of Technology, with joint sponsorship from the National Innovation Center for High-Performance Membrane Materials, the National Engineering Research Center for Special Separation Membranes, the State Key Laboratory of Chemical Engineering of Materials, the Jiangsu Provincial Society for Environmental Sciences, the Jiangsu Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Membrane Materials and Membrane Processes, and the Jiangsu Provincial Future Membrane Technology Innovation Center. More than 260 experts, scholars, and outstanding master’s and doctoral students from 31 renowned universities and research institutes, as well as nine enterprises and public institutions—including Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology of China, Tongji University, East China University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang Industrial University, and the Shanghai Institute for Advanced Studies of the Chinese Academy of Sciences—gathered to discuss cutting-edge developments in membrane science. The conference was co-chaired by Professor Zhong Zhaoxiang and Professor Wang Yong.
On the morning of the 22nd, Jin Ke, Director of the Graduate Education Division of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, delivered the opening address, in which he fully affirmed the forum’s vital role in talent development. Xing Weihong, founder of the Jiangsu Membrane Society and President of Jiangsu University, urged young scholars to shoulder significant responsibilities amid the surging wave of membrane science and technology. Vice President Dai Zhihui encouraged the attending graduate students to broaden their academic horizons and to shine brightly in the field of membrane technology in the years to come. Officials from relevant administrative departments at numerous universities across the East China region also attended the opening ceremony.
Since its inception in 2017, the East China Graduate Academic Forum on Membrane Science and Technology has become a well‑established academic brand jointly developed by universities and research institutes across the region. This year’s forum has achieved new milestones in terms of attendance, organizational format, and scholarly output.
