The Third Session of the Sixth Council of the China Membrane Industry Association was successfully held in Hangzhou.

In April, Hangzhou is awash in the vibrant spirit of spring, with warm breezes gently caressing the face. On April 15, 2023, the Third Meeting of the Sixth Council of the China Membrane Industry Association, together with a gathering of its branch organizations, was held in Hangzhou. The event was attended by 136 delegates, including Academician Gao Congjie, former Secretary-General of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Deng Maicun, and numerous council members and heads of branch organizations from across the country. The meeting was chaired by Zheng Genjiang, Chairman of the Association.
Academician Gao Congjie delivered an enthusiastic address at the opening ceremony. He noted that, over the past three years, under the sound leadership of higher authorities, the association has withstood the pressures of the pandemic, successfully completed its various tasks, and made significant contributions to advancing the high-quality development of China’s membrane industry, achieving new results and further propelling the sector forward. He expressed his hope that, in the year ahead, the association will continue to forge ahead, boldly explore new avenues, and lead the Chinese membrane industry to even greater accomplishments.
The meeting heard and approved the “Report on the Work of the Third Session of the Sixth Council of the Association,” presented by Wang Jiwen, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Association. He noted that 2022 was one of the most challenging years in recent times: global geopolitical tensions remained volatile, the domestic epidemic situation was severe and complex, and downward pressure on the economy continued to mount. The membrane industry likewise faced substantial challenges, with many of the Association’s initiatives unable to proceed as scheduled due to pandemic‑related restrictions. Nevertheless, thanks to the care and support of the vice chairmen, standing directors, and directors, as well as the concerted efforts of all members, the entire Secretariat overcame numerous difficulties, worked in unison, and carried out its duties diligently, doing everything possible to ensure the smooth functioning of the Association’s core operations.
