On April 24, 2025, the seventh session of the sixth council of the China Membrane Industry Association, together with the High-End Membrane Materials Forum, was held in Dongying, Shandong. The meeting was attended by 165 participants, including association leaders, council members, heads of branch organizations, and representatives from relevant enterprises—of whom 125 were council members, in full compliance with the association’s articles of association. The meeting was chaired by Zheng Genjiang, Chairman of the China Membrane Industry Association.

The meeting began by hearing and approving the “Work Report of the Seventh Session of the Sixth Council of the Association,” presented by Wang Jiwen, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Association. He noted that 2024 is a pivotal year for achieving the goals and tasks set forth in the 14th Five-Year Plan. The Association has actively implemented national development strategies and industry‑wide objectives, comprehensively strengthened its internal capacity, vigorously pursued various initiatives, and striven to break new ground. With the strong support of all council members and association members, the Association’s work has maintained a positive momentum, yielding significant results and playing an important role in advancing the high‑quality development of China’s membrane industry. In his report, Secretary-General Wang provided a detailed overview of the Association’s 13 key priorities for this year, outlining specific plans for Party building, conferences, external outreach, standardization, the preparation of the 15th Five-Year Plan, and the organization of events marking the Association’s 30th anniversary. He expressed firm confidence that, under the leadership of the Central Social Work Department and the guidance of the Petrochemical Federation, the Association will continue to enhance its performance and deliver even greater achievements.

Zhang Weizheng, Vice Chairman of the Association, read out proposals regarding the addition of executive directors, the admission of new members, and the expulsion of members. The General Assembly unanimously approved the following: China Lucky Group Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Filite Membrane Technology Co., Ltd. were added as director units; eight new member enterprises joined the Association; and four member units were expelled from the Association for failing to pay membership dues or participate in Association activities over an extended period.

Subsequently, Meng Huilin, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the Association, read out the notice on the establishment of the drafting group for the “15th Five-Year Plan” Development Outline of China’s Membrane Industry and the related work arrangements; Liu Han, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association, then read out the notice on the commendation activities marking the 30th anniversary of the founding of the China Membrane Industry Association.

At the meeting, the heads of the association’s various branches each presented reports on their key work priorities for 2025. Participants expressed their commitment to actively support the association’s efforts, strictly comply with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and contribute to the association’s continued growth. Under the association’s leadership, they pledged to vigorously advance the work of their respective branches and to make meaningful contributions to the development of China’s membrane industry.

During the event, the association also presented certificates to enterprises recognized as “Leaders” under the 2024 membrane industry enterprise standards, as well as to those that contributed to the drafting of the national standard, “Guidelines for Membrane-Based Integrated Treatment Technologies for High-Salinity Wastewater Resource Recovery.”

Finally, Zheng Genjiang, Chairman of the Association, delivered a closing summary. He noted that in 2025, the Association’s Secretariat undertook extensive work. The convening of this Board of Directors meeting not only strengthened internal cohesion and unity but also charted a clear course for the future development of the membrane industry. He expressed confidence that, through the concerted efforts of all delegates, the membrane sector will usher in an even brighter future.

The “High-End Membrane Materials Forum,” held concurrently with the conference, was a resounding success. The forum brought together domestic experts and scholars, as well as upstream and downstream enterprises across the industry chain, to jointly discuss technological breakthroughs in high-end membrane materials, the expansion of application scenarios, and emerging industry trends. Wang Xinsheng, Deputy Director of the Dongying Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology; Chen Jingchun, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Dongying Municipal Science and Technology Bureau; Wang Shouhua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Fuhai Holdings; and Luo Guangheng, General Manager of Fuhai New Materials, attended the event and delivered remarks.
